We designed and patented the world's first intelligent barrier that integrates LED lighting system, solar power supply and multiple IoT sensors to improve road safety and prevent accidents; all mounted on a recycled rubber coating. The goal of 1Barrier is to save lives.
Road Safety Barrier Manufactured with Recycled Materials
1Barrier is composed of an exterior coating of fireproof recycled rubber from End-of-Life Tires (ELT) and supported by an internal steel structure, which has no edges or corners that endanger the safety of drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists when they have an accident.
In recent years we have hired a group of engineers expert in the automotive and road safety sector.
The task assigned to these professionals has been to convert the idea and preliminary design of 1Barrier into a product that meets the technical specifications of current regulations (EN1317, for Europe. And AASHTO M180, for the United States).
In the finite element tests (FEM) carried out with the LS-DYNA program, our barrier has exceeded the technical requirements of both standards and is ready to move to the testing or crash-test phase; prior to its manufacture.
Intelligent Technology for Traffic Management
The potential of incorporating a series of information and communication technologies in the exterior rubber coating will allow:
1Barrier can incorporate different technologies, which will allow government administrations and infrastructure contractors to manage incidents on roads and highways more quickly and effectively.
The currently defined utilities will allow, through the placement of an LED-type screen and other sensors, smart management of traffic, accidents and their consequences.

With each linear meter of 1Barrier we recycle 40kg of rubber from End-of-Life Tires (ELT).
By using 40kg of ELTs for the manufacture of one meter of 1Barrier, we are removing from the atmosphere the equivalent of this amount of CO2.
For each km of 1Barrier we remove 5,500 tires from landfills and the environment
